Skip Bayless calls the Knicks ‘overrated’ after 76ers’ OT Game 5 win in the playoffs despite them leading the series

The Philadelphia 76ers managed to force Game 6 at home following Tyrese Maxey ‘s huge clutch shots. On the other hand, the Knicks led by Jalen Brunson had the momentum in the last two minutes of the fourth, though couldn’t handle Maxey’s deep shots that fell when it mattered the most. However, the Knicks have made an unexpected postseason performance versus the 76ers, who despite being the 7th seed were considered favorites by many.

New York is still leading the series, 3-2, as they head over to Philly for Game 6. Skip Bayless on the other hand believes the Knicks to be overrated. Each game of this series has gone down the wire. Game 2 showed the Knicks making an impossible comeback in the last minute, whereas the Sixers returned the favor in the previous game. Though looking at New York’s approach to their offense, Bayless emphasized Brunson’s importance.

The Knicks are just overrated to me... But the point is, he (Jalen Brunson) makes a lot of shots and he misses a lot of shots. So for this series, he's shooting 29% from three and he missed a lot of big threes last night that could've turned the tide for them in the fourth quarter and in overtime..." , Skip Bayless said

While Jalen Brunson has been struggling from three, the 6-foot-2 guard has been leading the postseason in scoring. Brunson is averaging 34.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 8.4 assists so far into the series. Not only that, but he is also having the most game time, averaging 43.8 minutes in the last five games.

The Knicks have the upper hand in Game 6

Philly hosted Game 4 at home, however, they did not have the expected home crowd in the stands. The Wells Fargo Center was filled with Knicks fans, taking up the majority of the audience. Not only that but as per TickPick, 42% of the Game 6 tickets are from New York and New Jersey. Whereas 40% of them are from Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The Sixers might not have the home-court advantage despite playing at home. However, Philly has a great chance of forcing a Game 7, with Maxey and Joel Embiid playing at their best. The former MVP is averaging great numbers despite his knee injury.

As told by Skip, if Brunson somehow goes through a bad shooting night, the Knicks will lose the momentum on the offensive end of the floor. It will be interesting to see the Sixers try to force Game 6, as they head home.
