Why Draymond Green Believes Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets Series Is Over
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

After winning the first two games of the series, the Minnesota Timberwolves are down a 3-2 hole against the Denver Nuggets. The former’s recent loss has prompted Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green to believe that the Anthony Edwards-led squad is going home soon.

The Timberwolves entered the Western Conference semifinals with so much hype after sweeping Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. In that series, Edwards put up a marvelous performance while the rest of the team played their parts perfectly to knock their first round opponents out of contention.

That hype carried through the first two games of their series against the Nikola Jokic-led Nuggets. During that stretch, Minnesota was able to defeat the defending champions twice in a row. That feat had everybody talking about how they can eliminate Denver and win the whole playoffs, mostly because of Edwards’ stellar performance.

The same can’t be said now after the Nuggets have won three straight games to come close to eliminating Minnesota. Thanks to Jokic’s MVP-worthy performance and other key pieces showing up for Games 3, 4, and 5, Denver has turned the narrative around when it comes to their case as title contenders.

Draymond Green Claims Minnesota Timberwolves’ Series Against Denver Nuggets is Over

Just several days ago, the entire NBA was already claiming Minnesota’s triumph in the series. Now, the tables have turned, as declared by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green in a video shared by NBA on TNT’s official account:

Apart from Rudy Gobert’s lackluster defense on Jokic, Green pointed out the Wolves’ lack of belief in winning the whole thing. With this belief gone, it’s only a matter of time before they go home soon.

The Nuggets need only one more win to advance while Edwards and company need two more. For sure, the coming days is going to be interesting for both teams to see who will emerge as the best squad.
